God Is Near - Psalm 34:18

Heartbreak and seasons of sorrow can feel isolating. It’s easy to believe we’re alone in our pain, but Psalm 34:18 reminds us that God is near. He doesn’t stand at a distance, waiting for us to fix ourselves or move past our pain. Instead, He draws close in the moments when we feel most broken.
The phrase "brokenhearted" doesn’t just refer to those who are grieving—it encompasses anyone feeling deeply hurt, rejected, or weighed down by the burdens of life. God’s promise is that He sees you in that place, and not only does He draw near, but He also saves.
To be "crushed in spirit" might sound like the end, but with God, it’s the beginning of healing. He meets us in our lowest moments, not to leave us there but to gently restore and strengthen us. His presence is the salve for our wounds, and His saving grace is our hope when the weight feels unbearable.
This week, if your heart feels heavy or your spirit feels crushed, remember that God is right there with you. He hears your cries, knows your struggles, and will walk with you through every storm. Trust in His nearness and let Him carry you through.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for being near to the brokenhearted and saving those who are crushed in spirit. When I feel overwhelmed by pain, remind me of Your presence and help me to trust in Your healing power. Draw close to me and restore my heart as only You can. Amen.

I was.made redundant last year and it’s been hard to absorb and take it in but this is all part of Gods plan not only with the path that he has installed ahead of my but to draw me closer to him in prayer and spirit and making me focus on what it really important. Prayer has been my focus 🙏 and talking to him as he knows what’s best. Trust in the process. God bless 🙌 God is good 👍

This devotional couldn’t be more timely as my aunt passed away from dementia recently. We’re lifting up her husband, daughter, and other family members during this sorrowful time, and know she was welcomed into Heaven with a a joyous celebration!

Lord this hit hard today. Our family lost two close friends this past week. The year ended and started with much sorrow. Even in the storms we praise Jesus, tho we do not understand we try our hardest to leave our worries our heartache at his feet. Trust that we will endure with Gods Love Always near us.
