Waiting with Faith: Trusting God’s Perfect Timing - Psalm 37:7
"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!"
- Psalm 37:7
Waiting is one of the hardest things we do as believers. Our human nature craves immediate answers, quick solutions, and visible progress. But Psalm 37:7 reminds us that waiting on God is not passive—it is an act of faith. To “be still before the Lord” means to quiet our anxious thoughts, lay down our striving, and trust in His sovereignty.
It’s easy to look around and see others advancing in life, even those who seem to have no regard for God. We wonder, Why is their business thriving while mine struggles? Why did they get the opportunity I prayed for? These questions can lead to frustration, doubt, and even resentment. But God calls us to a different posture—patience, trust, and surrender.
God’s delays are never denials; they are divine preparations. Just as a seed takes time to grow underground before breaking through the soil, God is working beneath the surface of your life, preparing you for what’s ahead. When we rush ahead of Him, we miss out on His perfect plan.
Think about Joseph in the Bible. He had a vision of leadership, but before stepping into his God-given destiny, he endured betrayal, slavery, and prison. He could have become bitter, but instead, he remained faithful. In the end, God’s timing exceeded anything Joseph could have orchestrated on his own.
The next time you feel like you’re falling behind or that life isn’t unfolding the way you expected, remember that God is not in a hurry—and neither should we be. His ways are higher, His timing is perfect, and His plans are for our good.
Release the worry, trust God’s timing, and be still in His presence.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be still before You and trust Your perfect plan. When impatience creeps in, remind me that You are never late—You are always on time. Strengthen my faith as I wait, and keep my heart from comparison and envy. I surrender my timeline to You and choose to rest in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Needed this today! Waiting on a Godly wife. Most of my friends have gotten married, I have felt behind and like I was being punished. But God is helping me to trust Him that He has someone, maybe not when I expected, but worth the wait.
